Non-League Preview: League leaders Sutton United face difficult trip to in-form Wrexham

National League leaders Sutton United head to Wrexham on Saturday looking to cling onto their narrow lead at the top.

Sutton enter the game with a one-point advantage over five other teams including Wrexham, who sit fifth.

The Welsh side are unbeaten in their past seven, conceding just one goal in that run after losing three of their first five games.

The Us will be without midfielder Craig Eastmond, suspended after picking up his fifth booking of the season in last Saturday’s 3-2 win over Barrow.

Defender Louis John was again named in the England C training squad, having scored twice on debut against Slovakia at Sutton’s Gander Green Lane last June.

Elsewhere, Hampton and Richmond Borough travel to Cinderford Town in the FA Cup Third Qualifying Round, having drawn six of their past seven in all competitions.

Hampton needed a replay to get past Isthmian League North side Potters Bar Town in the last round, drawing 1-1 at home before a 3-0 away win on September 19.

Cinderford are two leagues below Borough in Evo-Stik Division One South & West, and are hoping to avoid a third defeat in a week.

Struggling Tooting & Mitcham, without a win in their eight league games this season, head to second-place Hendon in the Bostik Premier.

Tooting, Bostik South champions last season, then host Staines Town on Tuesday night at Imperial Fields.

Following a run of five wins and a draw, Corinthian Casuals could go top of the Bostik South if they beat bottom side Shoreham at home.

In the same division, unbeaten Carshalton Athletic play Ramsgate at the War Memorial Ground, having come from behind to win 4-3 at Chipstead last time out.

Walton Casuals, currently one place above Carshalton in sixth, take on 16th-placed Hastings United.
