AFC Wimbledon looking to maintain unbeaten record against Cambridge United

AFC Wimbledon vs Cambridge Utd @ Kingsmeadow

Saturday 29 November @ 15.00

AFC Wimbledon will look to keep their unbeaten record against Cambridge United intact when they host them on Saturday.

In their four meetings since 2009, the recently promoted Cambridge have been unable to beat Wimbledon having drawn two and lost two.

The Dons, however, find themselves three places below The Us in League Two on goal difference in 16th and will be looking for another win to leapfrog them.

Wimbledon were held to a goalless draw at Oxford last weekend while Cambridge were beaten when they travelled to Accrington Stanley.

With 18 goals between them this season, Wimbledon’s strike force of Matt Tubbs and Adebayo Akinfenwa will pose a significant threat to a Cambridge defence that has shipped 23 goals in 18 league games.

Wimbledon’s own defence will go up against a familiar face in striker Kwesi Appiah, who spent the end of last season on loan at Kingsmeadow and is currently Cambridge’s top goal scorer with six so far this season.

The Dons have bolstered this defensive line with the signing of Millwall defender Jake Goodman on loan until January, as well as extending the loan stay of QPR midfielder Frankie Sutherland until the same date.
