Rugby League returns to Wimbledon next month as London Broncos begin their Betfred Championship campaign at the Cherry Red Records Stadium at 3pm on Sunday, February 5.
It’s the fastest and most brutal team sport in town, and you can be there watching every kick, tackle and scrum live as the Broncos host Batley Bulldogs thanks to our latest competition.
To celebrate the beginning of the new Rugby League season, South West Londoner has teamed up with the Broncos to offer two lucky families the opportunity to win a family ticket.
Entry is free and could not be simpler. Just head over to our Twitter account using the below link and Retweet our competition post!
Every account who re-tweets the post will be automatically entered into a draw to win one family ticket (two adults, two U16s) to the game. The winner will be revealed and contacted on Friday, January 27.
Bulldogs narrowly missed out on promotion to Super League last year when they were defeated by Leigh Centurions in the ‘Million Pound’ Play-Off Grand Final in October.
Their most recent visit to Wimbledon ended in defeat when the Broncos’ Alex Walker scored a brace to help the home side to a 30-20 victory in front of a jubilant home crowd.
The Broncos have added a number of new names to their squad since, including recent World Cup star Henry Raiwalui, Italian international Ethan Natoli and the highly-promising Australian Jarred Bassett.
Director of Rugby and Performance Mike Eccles encouraged South West Londoner readers to enter now and hopes to see as many people possible at the Cherry Red Records Stadium on matchday.
“Batley will be a really tough test for us,” said Eccles. “They’re a well-established team at this level and the support of our fanbase will be so important if we are to start our campaign on a positive note.
“Rugby League is a hard-hitting, fast-flowing and family friendly team sport. No game passes without its dramatic twists and turns and while most teams are based in the north, we are proud to be London’s premiere club.
“We see great potential for the sport to grow in London following the successful Rugby League World Cup and encourage anyone yet to experience a Broncos matchday to come along.
“Good luck to everyone who enters and see you on gameday!”
