Since the establishment of the Walking Football Association in 2016, walking football has quickly become one of the fastest growing sports in the UK.
There are now over 1200 clubs nationwide, and an estimated 40,000 regular weekly players.
Walton Walking Football Club is one of the largest clubs in the country with over 150 members, and whilst players originally joined to get fit, they have stayed due to the mental release that the sport provides, especially important since the isolation caused by the Covid-19 lockdown.
Now restrictions have eased, the club has developed into a pillar of the local community, providing players with friendship and support both on and off the pitch.
