Hampton & Richmond Borough are on the verge of making two new signings prior to their trip to Leatherhead on Wednesday.
The Beavers moved top of the Ryman Premier Division table with a 4-3 win over Leiston on Saturday and hold a two-point lead over Dulwich Hamlet with a game in hand.
Manager Alan Dowson signed midfielder Tom Beere on loan from AFC Wimbledon last week and expects more to follow in the coming days.
“I am working on five or six options and I think we will get two,” he said.
“Hopefully they will give us the final push we need.
“We are looking to improve all areas and we’re after flexibility. Hopefully tomorrow morning we will have some news.”
Hampton have been the surprise package this season after starting the campaign with odds of 33/1 to win the league.
Dowson expects Dulwich to eventually prevail but heaped praise on his side after the wind-affected game at the weekend.
Jamal Lowe scored two first-half goals for the hosts, while Moussa Diarra and Nicke Kabemba also found the net.
Leiston threatened to snatch a point when the wind helped Gareth Hearth and Joe Jefford score from corners in the last minute, but Hampton held on.
Dowson said: “We have got a lot of good characters and I was delighted with the way we came through.
“I was disappointed that we conceded two goals in the 90th minute, but with 15 games to go you just want to win games.
“Obviously you want to win in the right way, but at this stage you just want to win.”
