Non-League preview: Sutton United look to end poor run against Woking and FA Trophy kicks off

Sutton United face Woking at Gander Green Lane tomorrow, hoping to put their midweek loss at Dover Athletic behind them.

The 3-1 loss was their fifth defeat in seven games – a run that has seen them drop to 14th in the National League after a promising start to the season in August.

Ex-Charlton Athletic midfielder Nicky Bailey will be looking to add to the three goals this season against a Woking side who have also struggled for form and sit  19th.

Hampton & Richmond lie in second place in the National League South and are only three points behind leaders Maidenhead United.

They suffered just their third defeat of the season in FA Cup qualifying at Taunton last weekend and face a stern test at home to fifth-placed Poole Town.

In the Ryman Premier Division, Kingstonian host AFC Sudbury and a win will see them leapfrog their opponents in the league table.

Confidence will be high at Kingsmeadow after two wins in three, following a previous run of four games without victory.

In the same league, rock bottom Met Police travel to Canvey Island still searching for their first win of the season.

Park Lane may prove to be a lucky ground, as they won there twice last season, 2-0 and 3-0 in the cup and league.

The FA Trophy kicks off this weekend with the preliminary round and Tooting & Mitcham face an away trip to Norwich United.

The Terrors will be grateful for a break from league action following two successive defeats that has seen them slip to third.

At King George’s Field, Corinthian Casuals entertain Thamesmead Town. They lost 1-0 to Herne Bay last week but were unbeaten in five prior to that.

The Casuals are currently fifth in the league and will be wanting to take their good form into the knockout competition.

They managed to make the first round last season but were knocked out by Hungerford.
