Labour held Tooting at the 2017 general election with a share of 59.6% of the vote and a positive swing of 12.4%.
Tooting constituents backed Remain by 74.4% in the 2016 EU referendum.
The constituency was represented by Sadiq Khan from 2005 until his election as Mayor of London in 2016, triggering a by-election in which Labour retained the seat.
Rosena Allin-Khan (Labour)
Rosena Allin-Khan was born in Tooting and worked as a junior doctor in A&E at St George’s Hospital before going into politics.
She won the seat in the 2016 by-election to succeed Sadiq Khan as MP for Tooting. Her campaign focused on her working-class roots and Polish-Pakistani heritage.
Her priorities for this election are stopping Brexit and campaigning against climate change.
In October 2016 she was appointed Shadow Minister for Sport. Dr Allin-Khan is an amateur boxer who trains at Balham Boxing Club.

Kerry Briscoe (Conservative)
Kerry Briscoe lives in Balham and has lived in London for 13 years. She has a background in business and finance and is currently a trustee for an education charity in her spare time.
She also gives talks and workshops at universities and schools on career advice for young women, CV writing and interview technique.
She said: “I am truly grateful to be given this opportunity and will strive to represent the people, families and businesses of our community.
“I will be a strong voice on local issues, including the things I am passionate about which include high standards of education for all and social mobility.”

Olly Glover (Liberal Democrats)
Olly Glover lives in Balham and works for a small company developing future railway links in the south east of England.
He is passionate about the Liberal Democrats’ plan to stop Brexit, tackle climate change, and transform public services.
He is a keen cyclist and campaigner against air pollution.

Glyn Goodwin (Green Party)
Glyn Goodwin lives in Earlsfield with his wife and two children, where he is a local tree warden and helps run the local residents’ association.
He has worked as an illustrator, including for the Financial Times, and on books including England in Particular and a series of illustrations about London’s homeless.
His work with a local charity delivering aid to refugees has brought him face to face with the plight of climate refugees.
Earlier this year he was one of the organisers of a petition calling for Wandsworth Council to declare a climate emergency which, with 12,298 signatures collected, was successful.
