All three emergency services were called to the scene after a Police car and a white Peugeot 207 crashed into the front of Kitchens Bathrooms and Tiles on Merton High Street at around 10:50 today.
A marked police van was responding to an emergency call with blue lights and siren when it collided with a private vehicle turning in to Quicks Road.
Three fire engines and approximately ten fireman attended the incident, alongside an ambulance crew and five police cars, two police bikes, and a riot van arrived in the aftermath of the incident.
Road closures remain in place around Quicks Road.
An onlooker said: “I was inside my house and I heard a siren then a loud bang. I came out and saw the van in the shop.”
In a statement, the Met Police said: “There are no reports of serious injuries. The female driver of a private vehicle involved in the collision was seen by London Ambulance service. She was taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service as a precaution.
“The Met’s Directorate of Professional Standards will be informed as is standard practice in collisions involving police vehicles.”
