England polo stars take to Segways ahead of Chestertons Polo in the Park clash with South Africa

England’s polo team promoted their sport with the use of Segways to members of the public ahead of their next international fixture in Fulham.

The Segway Polo event was used to promote the Chestertons Polo in the Park festival that is due to take place over the first weekend of June at the Hurlingham Club.

England player Jack Richardson said he hoped this event will lead to more participation and coverage of polo and cannot wait to represent his country once more.

He said: “It’s a brilliant event and the Segways were certainly a challenge to what I am used to.

“It was a great event and I hope we have more of these so we can promote polo and get others involved in the sport.

“It looks set to be a great weekend with Chestertons Polo in the Park trophy and also the game against South Africa too.

“I’m just glad we will be on our horses and not the Segways.”
