A police van crashed into a vehicle on Twickenham High Street this afternoon.
The emergency van was emerging from the junction between London Road and turning into York Street, hitting the vehicle at around 1:45 pm.
A witness reported that the police van’s view was obstructed by a larger vehicle and by going around it crashed into the car’s side.
Following the incident the officer driving the van immediately went to checked on the car driver, who was reportedly alone in the vehicle.
One police car was attending the scene, but no ambulances were reported on site.
York Street is partly closed, and traffic is being diverted to Arragon Road.
The police have been contacted for further comment.
