One of the last remaining second-hand book shops in Wimbledon is closing next month.
Copperfield’s in Hartfield Road will be closing after 17 years on the high street of Wimbledon.
The second-hand bookshop has been home to more than 73,000 books according to Dick Bower, a volunteer at the shop.
The bookshop has been a popular and important feature of the area with many feeling it was a warm and open space for the bookworms who popped into it over the years.

Tom Bowery, who has worked in the book shop for more than two years, said: “You meet different characters and hear different stories from the customers and coming in, you never know what you’ll find.”
Customers have come from far and wide to shop at Copperfield’s, with one coming all the way from Edinburgh to collect books about trains.
While the Ivor Novello Society has also come to talks put on at the shop before.
The bookshop is an oasis to all its visitors, a home for the book clubbers, the browsers and the Instagrammers searching for the perfect aesthetic.
Customer Laura Megatli said: “It’s like Aladdin’s cave but for bookworms.”
The shop is offering discounts on its books up until it closes.
