London’s first breakfast-in-bed dining experience opened its doors in Putney yesterday.
From this weekend onwards, customers at the Brew Cafe, on Lower Richmond Road, will be able to hire out a bed with cosy blankets and their own fire pit – and will even be given a bell to summon a personal waiter!
Owner Jason Wells feels it brings something new to area.
He said: “Customers can select canapés and mains from a varied menu designed by one of Yotam Ottolenghi’s protégés.”
The 90-minute breakfast-in-bed experience costs £200 for four people, and include canapés, champagne, breakfast and homemade ice-cream.
The cafe will also host a free weekly cinema night, with deck-chairs and a big screen at the front of the restaurant.
Mr Wells has even found a way to cater for the fitness fans that workout in nearby Wandsworth Park.
“We get a lot of people who pop in after their class and we want them to feel comfortable and relaxed, so we built showers and changing rooms,” he said.
“We even have a fitness instructor starting next week!”
The Australian inspired restaurant aims to deliver simple, antipodean food to the local community.

Taking inspiration from his travels around the world, Mr Wells has created an intimate setting for diners, with an open-plan kitchen, patisserie and butchery area.
The Brew Cafe also have branches in Wimbledon and Clapham, and have even extended their reach abroad, with eateries in the US and Australia.
