Sue Barker set the town of Mitcham alight as she ran with the Olympic Flame in front of thousands of onlookers on Monday.

Sue’s run ended at the Hub, home of Tooting and Mitcham FC, before the light was passed on to continue its journey.

The 8,000 mile route the flame has taken across the UK will end on Friday evening at the Olympic Stadium in preparation for the opening ceremony.

BBC sports presenter Sue is originally from Devon, and will be covering her fifth Olympics this summer.

The Torch began its journey at Land’s End on 19 May and has travelled within one hour of 95% of the British population.

It first arrived in London on Saturday 21 July, and will travel through the host boroughs before reaching the Olympic Stadium on Friday.
