Provenance Village Butchers showed off their produce.
A popular Kensington butchers sizzled and sliced as audiences watched on at Portobello’s Road Food stall this weekend.
Provenance Village Butchers used the demo-stall to show off their produce, display their butchering skills and draw passers-by with aromatic morsels created by guest chefs Margie Broadhead and Rachel Hytken.
London caterer Margie Broadhead, 26, cooked Wagu sirloin steaks served with simple sauces made from ingredients bought at the market.
“I really wanted to show that if you spend money on good meat, you really don’t need to do much to it to make it taste delicious,” she said.
Each month Portobello Road features a Friday demonstration cookery stall on pitch 89 near Dunworth Mews and Saturday free sample tasting of dishes prpeared using fresh produce from select fruit and vegetable market stalls.
The demo and sampling series are open to all qualified chefs, with the demo stall currently available from January 17 2014.
