The World Heart Beat cultural centre has become a home to many economically disadvantaged music students in south-west London.

The centre sits in the heart of the new Nine Elms development and hosts 350 students.

We sat down with the founder and creative to discuss the cultural landscape of the British music scene in the UK and how budget cuts to the arts have had devastating effects.

Even in the darkest moments, this shining beacon offers refuge to those musically talented kids striving towards a brighter tomorrow.
