British Muslim men from Kingston, Putney, Raynes Park and Wimbledon are rallying against all forms of extremism this weekend.
The anti-extremism event hosted by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association (AMYA) runs at Country Market in Kingsley, Hampshire, from today until Sunday.
There is daily prayer and the Union Jack and Islamic flags are hoisted together as a symbol of integration.
The caliph His Holiness Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad will lead a pledge including a promise to serve and protect Great Britain.
Aamer Hafeez, the regional youth leader for South West London’s Masroor Region said: “Our religion has been completely distorted and misunderstood as a result of a tiny minority of people committing unimaginable atrocities.
He added: “We would like to let all fellow Brits know that we stand with you against extremism and that Islam is a religion of compassion and kindness to all, regardless of faith, ethnicity, gender or beliefs.”
The event, which has been running for over 30 years, brings together more than 5,000 young British Muslim Men from England, Scotland and Wales, but is open to anyone wishing to attend.
Raza Ul Haq, regional vice coordinator for the South West London branch of AMYA, said: “We want others to know what we are doing inside our community and its transparency.
“You can see everything, you can even come and join us.
“It’s a message for both, inside and external as well.”
