By Gemma Jamieson

A Hammersmith actor was celebrating last night after winning a prestigious award at the Baftas.

Will Poulter, 21, was presented with the EE Rising Star Award at the event which was held at the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden.

Past winners of the award include Tom Hardy (2011), Kristen Stewart (2010) Shia LaBeouf (2008) and Eva Green (2007).

After the event, Poulter tweeted: “This is all because of you guys!!! I LOVE YOU and there are no words to descrive how grateful I am. BEST MOMENT EVER”

Poulter, who studied at the Harrodian School in Barnes, is best known for his portrayal of Eustace Clarence Scrubb in C. S. Lewis’s Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader and We’re the Millers.

“I don’t discriminate according to budget size or genre,’ he told the Metro. “It’s about the integrity of characters and the narrative, to the people that are involved.”

His next film The Maze Runner is due for release at the end of this year.
