9 to 5: The Musical, based on the hit movie, is coming to the New Wimbledon Theatre this month with shows starting next week.
Written by Patricia Resnick, with music and lyrics by Dolly Parton, this hilarious new show centres on three office workers who turn the tables on their sexist, egotistical and hypocritical boss.
They plot to take control of the company and hilarity ensues as they quickly realise there is nothing they can’t do.
Cheeky, witty and with some romance thrown in for good measure, 9 to 5 is about teaming up and taking care of business.
The production stars Natalie Casey, best known as Donna from “Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps”, as Judy Bernly. Her stage credits include “Oklahoma!” at the Chichester Festival Theatre and she has also performed in “Legally Blonde” in the West End.
Also appearing is Jackie Clune as Violet Newstead, whose West End credits include the leading role of Mrs Wilkinson in “Billy Elliot”, Bonnie Langford as Roz Keith and Amy Lennox as Doralee Rhodes .

The show naturally features Dolly Parton’s classic hit “9 to 5” which earned her an Academy Award nomination as well as four Grammy Award nominations.
Dolly Parton herself said: “I am so excited that 9 to 5 the Musical is coming to the UK. 9 to 5 the Musical is perfect for anyone that’s ever wanted to string up their boss, which is almost all of us. So come join the fun.”

The musical features no less than 18 original Dolly numbers, including “Backwoods Barbie”, “Shine Like the Sun”, “Get Out and Stay Out” and “Let Love Grow” from her last two albums.
9 to 5: The Musical will be heading to New Wimbledon Theatre from 22to 27 October.
