A 21-year-old man died in hospital this morning after being shot in Battersea.
The victim was found lying in Tennyson Street with a gunshot wound and was rushed to a central London hospital by paramedics where he died.
Metropolitan Police detectives are investigating the incident where there were reports of gunfire at around 11.30pm last night.
A police spokesman said: “Officers believe they know the identity of the deceased but await formal identification. Next of kin have been informed.
“A post-mortem examination will be held in due course.
“Police retain an open mind as to any motive, and there has been no arrest at this very early stage.”
