Merton councillors have their thrown their support behind the Better Together campaign by proudly holding Scottish flags and a huge Union Jack at full council today.

The Labour-led council is following in the footsteps of David Cameron, Ed Miliband and Nick Clegg who have all been working together and campaigning to win a ‘No’ vote.

The Scottish independence referendum, which will take place next Thursday, will see thousands of Scots flock to the polls to cast their vote and decide their political fate.

Polls have swung violently between the ‘Yes’ and ‘No’ camps with the most recent suggesting that the ‘No’ camp has just nudged ahead.
