Tomorrow will be the 99th anniversary of the end of the First World War, with Remembrance Sunday falling on the following day.
Many services and acts of reverence will be held all over the country, in memory of those who fought and died in conflicts passed and present.
Here are some services taking place across south-west London on Remembrance Sunday.
Westminster
The most well-known of the Remembrance Sunday services, starting at 11am.
The event will be attended by the Royal Family, with wreaths laid at the foot of the Cenotaph.
Brixton
Windrush Square will hold a wreath-laying ceremony starting at 1pm, which will be attended by Lambeth council leader Lib Peck and mayor Marcia Cameron.
A choir will perform at the ceremony, with a bugle signalling the start of a two-minute silence.
Chelsea
There will be a ceremony at Sloane Square War Memorial led by the deputy mayor of Kensington & Chelsea, Beinazir Lasharie. This will start at 10.55am.
An 11:00am service will follow at Holy Trinity Church in Sloane Street.
Croydon
Croydon’s Civic Service of Remembrance will be led by the Right Reverend Jonathan Clark and will take place at Croydon Minster at 11:00am.
Members of the public have been asked to be seated by 10.45am.
There will be a parade leaving North End at approximately 12.20pm that will make its way to the cenotaph at Katharine Street for 12.30pm, where a wreath-laying ceremony will take place.
Kensington
Kensington War Memorial will host a ceremony beginning at 10.50am.
This will then be followed by an 11.15am Civic Service at St. Mary Abbots Church. This will be led by Kensington & Chelsea mayor, Marie-Therese Rossi.
Merton
There will be an act of remembrance at Wimbledon War Memorial in Wimbledon Village.
The service will start at 10.40am, with the Mayor of Merton, Marsie Skeete, among those in attendance.
Morden
Veterans’ housing charity, Haig Housing Trust, will be holding a service at Alban Dobson House at noon. Those wishing to attend should arrive by 11.45am.
The charity’s inspirational work recently featured on DIY SOS, as a street in Manchester was revitalised to allow former Armed Forces personnel to live in improved conditions.
Richmond
St Mary Magdalene will hold a wreath-laying service at 9.30am. Bishop Richard Cheetham is the preacher.
This will then be followed by an Act of Remembrance, starting at 10.50am at the War Memorial on Whittaker Avenue.
Sutton
The South London Humanists will be holding an act of remembrance at Manor Park War Memorial in Sutton. This is due to begin at 10.45am.
Tooting
Holy Trinity Church, Tooting invites you to an Observance of Remembrance Sunday at 10am. The service at Trinity Road will include a parade.
