The Royal Family has announced that the Queen’s funeral will take place on Monday 19 September at 11am.
Britons will be given a bank holiday, on the day of the funeral, to pay their respects.
The funeral will be held at Westminster Abbey, after the Queen has laid in state for four days at Westminster Hall.
The Royal Family has also announced details of arrangements for the following nine days.
The Queen’s coffin will travel from Balmoral to Edinburgh by road tomorrow and there will be a procession from the Palace of Holyroodhouse to convey the coffin to St. Giles’ Cathedral.
Her Majesty’s coffin will lie in rest at St. Giles’ Cathedral until Tuesday afternoon, when she will fly from Edinburgh airport to RAF Northolt via RAF aircraft.
The coffin will then travel by road to Buckingham Palace, to rest in the Bow Room.
On Wednesday 14 September, the Queen will begin to lie in state at Westminster Hall until the morning of the State Funeral.
Members of the public will be able to visit the Queen’s coffin whilst she lies in state at Westminster Hall.
After the funeral, the coffin will travel to St. George’s Chapel, Windsor, where the committal service will be held.
Details of who will be invited to the Queen’s funeral and the order of service are expected to be announced next week.
King Charles will visit Northern Ireland on Tuesday 13 September and Wales on 16 September.
