A Fulham man was sentenced to 11 years imprisonment yesterday for possessing a firearm with intent to harm.

Kola Adisa, 21, was in a white Audi R8 which shot at two black males walking down St Elmo Road in the Shepherd’s Bush area on 16 April 2011.

On Monday Adisa admitted to the court that he was present in the vehicle, as a passenger, but denied having any involvement in the shooting.

He added that he had no prior knowledge to the shooting and that the driver must have fired the shots.

Adisa claims that he did not see the shooter due to a noxious substance being squirted into his eyes, temporarily blinding his vision.

The two men who had been described as being shot have not been identified nor have they come forward.

Police had attended the scene recovering several casings which were later examined and found to have been fired from a Mac10 machine pistol.

“This was a terrifying incident for local residents to witness in their street,” DCI Mick Foote, from the Trident Gang Crime Command, said.

“Adisa showed total disregard to the possible harm he could have caused.”

The police urge anyone who has any information about gun or gang crime to not hesitate in contacting them.
