Norbury fire crews successfully tackled a Croydon garage fire this morning.
Three fire engines were sent to the scene where firefighters extinguished the blaze which started in the early hours of this morning on Brook Road in Thornton Heath.
They were called to the garage at 8am by a neighbour, Mark Webb, who spotted the smoke as he passed by.
The garage fire in #ThorntonHeath is now under control and crews will be leaving the scene shortly.

He told SW Londoner: “I was walking down and could just see smoke.
“It was like it was full of pyrotechnics – it was just a big popping sound like fireworks.”
Firefighters on the scene were unsure of the cause of the fire, though there are suspicions that a gas canister may have been at the root of the problem.
