A man shot by police during a house raid in Wimbledon was charged by detectives this week.
Brooklyn McFarlane, 23, was shot by firearms officers during a planned operation into cash in transit robberies shortly after 8am on December 3.
He was taken by London Ambulance Service to hospital, where his condition was assessed as non-life threatening.
McFarlane, who lives in Wandsworth, was discharged from hospital on December 4 and taken to a south London police station.
He was subsequently charged with conspiracy to commit robbery by detectives from the Metropolitan Police’s Flying Squad, a branch of the Met that focuses on commercial robbery.
The 23-year-old was kept in custody until he appeared at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court on December 5 where he was bailed.
A second 23-year-old man, Abdirahman Mohomad Omar, was also arrested during the operation in Lacock Close, Wimbledon.
Omar, also a Wandsworth resident, has also been charged with conspiracy to commit robbery.
He appeared in front of Magistrates on December 4 and was remanded in custody.
Both men are scheduled to appear at Kingston Crown Court on December 21.
The Independent Office for Police Conduct have launched an investigation following the shooting.
The Met’s Directorate of Professional Standards were also informed.
Following the operation, a suspected stolen car was recovered at the scene and several roads were closed in the South Wimbledon area.
