Count Binface’s political career may soon be condemned to the trash of history – but the comedy candidate hopes to have a hit on his hands.
Binface was previously known as Lord Buckethead and made headlines when he stood against Theresa May in her Maidenhead constituency two years ago, bagging just 249 votes.
He was making his pitch at last night’s hustings for the Uxbridge and South Ruislip – an event prime minister Boris Johnson choose to avoid.
Claiming to be 5,965 – the man under the bin is actually 39 years old comedian John Harvey – he vowed to introduce Ceefax and put 20,001 police officers on the streets, one more than Mr Johnson’s campaign pledge.

And while polls show there is clearly much work to do, Count Binface may have a Christmas number one on his hands with his version of Sheena Easton’s Bond theme classic ‘For Your Eyes Only’.
Including the lines ‘Uxbridge and South Ruislip a lovely place to be, Uxbridge and South Ruislip jewel of the galaxy’ – he even made a video with shoppers at the Pavilions Shopping Centre.
