Zac Goldsmith and Sadiq Khan both proved their mayoral mettle this week by scooping prestigious parliamentary awards.
Mr Goldsmith bagged the Overall MP of the Year accolade but Mr Khan also proved popular when he was crowned People’s Choice Award for MP of the Year.
Both received the awards on Wednesday from the Patchwork Foundation for their work representing minority communities across Britain.
Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn said: “A proud son of a bus driver, to human rights lawyer to the destroyer of glass ceilings – Sadiq is someone who personifies aspirations.”
In the other corner, Prime Minister David Cameron praised the not-for-profit political organisation and backed Mr Goldsmith.
