A burst water main which is shooting jets of water into the air is causing chaos in the centre of Twickenham.
It’s believed that building contractors accidentally hit a pipe on King Street at about 10.30am today causing the flooding of businesses and now motorists are being urged to avoid the area.

London Fire Brigade is on the scene clearing away the water and putting down sandbags while the police are re-directing traffic away from the blocked eastbound road.

Bus services including the 290, 490, R68 and R70 are affected by the incident.
