A 16-year-old has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a teenager was stabbed to death on a Brixton estate on Sunday.

Alim Uddin, 17, was found by police with multiple stab wounds in Tilford House, Holmewood Gardens, following an apparent fight over a second hand bike. He was taken to hopsital where he was pronounced dead.

In an interview with the Evening Standard, Alim’s mother Parool said too little is being done to protect children in the capital.

“Our children are being killed and nothing is being done. It happens in broad daylight, every day they are being attacked,” she said.

“They are dying like dogs. It’s making our lives a living hell.”

Police said they do not believe the crime was gang related, and are asking anyone with information to contact the incident room on 020 8721 4054 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
