Jo Brand makes her debut as the Genie of the Ring.
Christmas is coming and for anyone not yet in the festive spirit, a visit to New Wimbledon Theatre won’t fail to get you in the mood.
Award-winning comedienne Jo Brand is set to star in Aladdin, this year’s Christmas pantomime.
Following on from last year’s stellar cast, Brand will be joined in Aladdin by other famous faces including Matthew Kelly, Oliver Thornton and Britain’s Got Talent finalists Flawless.
Brand, who was yesterday nominated for a British Comedy Award, will play the Genie of the Ring in her pantomime debut.
“I’m very much looking forward to doing my first panto, although I would have preferred Cinderella because I realise that I am a role model for many glamorous young women,” joked Brand.
Last year audiences were entertained by Priscilla Presley, the wife of the late king of Rock and Roll, and the theatre says this year promises to be even better.
“We are delighted to welcome Jo Brand to the list of stars that have made their pantomime debut at Wimbledon. With this stellar cast, Aladdin is sure to be our best show yet, and justly secures New Wimbledon Theatre as the home of London Pantomime,” said Kevin Wood, Chief Executive for First Family Entertainment.
With stunning sets, glittering costumes, wonderful songs and dazzling dancing, Aladdin is the perfect way for both children and adults to celebrate Christmas.
The show runs from Friday December 6 until Sun Jan 12 2014. Tickets can be bought at http://www.atgtickets.com/wimbledon or by calling 0844 871 7646.
