Conservative hopeful Gavin Barwell has received a major opinion poll boost with just three days to go until the General Election.
Mr Barwell and Labour rival Sarah Jones are locked in one of the closet election battles in south-west London for the marginal Croydon Central constituency.
Former councillor Mr Barwell won the vote with a 39.5% share five years ago, succeeding Andrew Pelling, who defended his seat as an independent.
But Mrs Jones has maintained a strong lead in locally targeted polling for the last 12 months.
However, the latest Lord Ashcroft poll shows the Conservatives stealing a four-point advantage, with Labour now trailing on 40%.

Lord Ashcroft has been polling marginal seats across the country and Croydon Central has seen the biggest movement in recent months.
In October last year Mrs Jones enjoyed a six-point advantage, which had thinned to four points in March.
UKIP candidate Peter Staveley has also seen his polling figures slump from 19% to just 10% in just seven months.
Lord Ashcroft also polled three seats that turned from red to blue at the last election but are considered at the bottom end of Labour’s target list, including the south-west London constituency of Battersea.
And his figures showed Public Health minister Jane Ellison enjoys a comfortable 12-point polling advantage over nearest rival, Labour candidate Will Martindale.
