Volunteers at a Carshalton lavender growers harvest event have seen a renewed interest in connecting to green spaces since the Covid-19 pandemic.
Carshalton Lavender is London’s only non-for-profit ‘pick your own’ lavender event in the city, and has been running the harvests since 2009.
During the pandemic, discussions over use and access to publicly available green space were widespread, with active lifestyles and access to nature becoming key measures of wellbeing and health.
Volunteers at Carshalton Lavender have noticed interest in the project steadily increasing over the last few years as priorities and attitudes have shifted.
