The fashion industry is one of the biggest polluters in the world, but there are organisations looking to make it more sustainable.
Closwap, a marketplace that allows individuals to trade clothes with each other online and offline is teaming up with universities such as King’s College London to spark change in the way we think about sustainable fashion.
By encouraging actions like swapping instead of shopping, they promote reducing waste and the hidden negative effects of fast fashion shopping.
Maria Remy from Closwap said: “Sustainability in fashion is important because generally people are not aware of its impact.
“Not many people know that it contributes to more CO2 emissions than the aviation and shipping industry combined.”
The sustainable fashion marketplace wishes to empower young people to make greener choices and rethink the way they value what they wear.
