The team at Richmond’s historic Marble Hill have been busy preparing for spring and working on their revived garden project.
Gardening Apprentice Harrison Hulatt said the revived project commenced in 2020 and is about restoring the ground’s gardens to the way they were historically in the mid-1700s.
The project includes planting various trees and paving paths to reflect the original layout.
Hulatt explained the project is supported with the help of the National Lottery Heritage Fund and with the assistance of their dedicated garden volunteers.
In May 2022, the Marble Hill House and Woodland Quarters were able to reopen following three years of restoration work.
Hulatt joined with garden volunteer Paul Green to conduct a free tour around the gardens.
The pair explained the different types of flowers and bird activity the site sees in spring.
