A new wine bar is set to open in Brixton next month.
Grays and Feather are opening their brand new wine bar, Finch, in Brixton Village market on Monday 18 September.
The company focuses upon a wine-based experience, established by acclaimed expert Andrew Gray, who runs a wine merchant business of the same name.
Finch is set to be a ‘cabinet of curiosities’, seating 12 tables inside the bar, and 18 external tables which will invite guests to bring food from other Brixton Village venues to enjoy alongside their wine.
The bar’s drinks menu promises a global selection of wines and bubbles, curated by Gray, from sparkling to orange wines, as well as Brixton inspired cocktails sourcing local fruits and spirits.
Gray said: “The wine list champions small winemakers which we endeavour to support as an independent company.
“Finch will have more of a focus on English wines and our goal will be to provide the residents of Brixton, and visitors to the area, with a buzzing place to catch up during the week or spend a weekend evening drinking and dining.”
The dining element of the bar is designed to pair with the wine list, offering snacks and sharing plates which range from the signature Golden Boy grilled cheese sandwich, to duck and cognac mousse pâté with pickles and sourdough.
Finch’s headline dish will be a Claw and Craw Roll, featuring a combination of lobster and crawfish with Marie Rose Sauce and chive in a brioche roll.
The bar will also be supporting Brixton’s art scene with a trio of folding window covers that will feature a rotating selection of artwork from Brixton artists, forming part of the Brixton Art Trail.
The Coldharbour Lane bar is the second to have been opened by Grays and Feather, the first having been opened in 2018 in Covent Garden.
This new location hopes to expand the company’s reach south of the Thames, as a part of an initiative which will carry on later into the year with a third wine bar, called Peregrine, which will be situated in Leadenhall Market.
