A Marilyn Monroe exhibition dedicated to her life and legacy has recently opened at The Arches in London Bridge.
The exhibition features 250 curated items from an exclusive private collection belonging to Ted Stampfer, which is the world’s largest assembly of Monroe’s personal possessions and artefacts.
The collection provides a close-up look into the star’s life outside of the spotlight, from love letters and satin robes to her classic ensembles, vintage shoes, and makeup.
Jimmy Stewart, supervisor at The Arches, said: “There are pieces in the exhibition that are very tragic but also explain who she was and why she became this mega star.”
Every artefact illuminates a distinct aspect of Monroe’s life, detailing her setbacks, triumphs, and the charisma that made her a world-renowned figure.
The collection comes from Monroe’s personal estate, most of which was kept in storage for almost 40 years before being made available to auction houses such as Christie’s in New York and Julien’s in Los Angeles.
The exhibition provides a once-in-a-lifetime chance to learn more about the woman behind the bombshell.
