Flower wall installation celebrates Pride at the Hammersmith Summer Street Fest

A shopping centre hosted a collective flower wall installation and free flower crown workshop at a local festival to celebrate diversity and raise funds for the LGBTQ+ community.

Livat Hammersmith has partnered with Hammersmith and Fulham Council and West London Queer project to host two activities at the Hammersmith Summer Street Fest with proceeds going to the LGBTQ+ community in West London.

The Livat Flower Wall installation invited the community to collaborate in its designs and the Flower Crowns charity event also took place on June 1 between 12-5pm.

Meeting Place Manager Natalia Petelina said: “We are thrilled to be part of the Hammersmith Summer Street Fest, bringing Livat Hammersmith’s unique blend of creativity and community engagement to this vibrant celebration.”

Livat Hammersmith encouraged everyone to get into the festival spirit and celebrate diversity, acceptance and unity within the community.

Petelina said: “Through the Livat Flower Wall and Flower Crowns charity event, we aim to foster and support a sense of connection, belonging, and hope within the Hammersmith community.”

All profits will be donated to the West London Queer Project (WLQP), a local non-profit charity, committed to supporting LGBTQ+ individuals in the community.

The Livat Flower Wall aims to create an inclusive space for visitors to think about their aspirations for their community.

WLQP will also be launching an upcoming 10km celebration walk for Pride Month which the Livat Hammersmith will also be promoting as a celebration of identities and achievements within the LGBTQ+ community.
