A Harry Styles lookalike contest was held in Soho Square on 9 November where the best doppelganger won £50.
Journalist Katrina Mirpuri organised the event, which began trending on social media and attracted a total of 12 Styles lookalikes and at least 100 people came to watch the competition, mainly young women.
The Harry Styles lookalike contest was inspired by the Timothée Chalamet lookalike contest that happened in New York and the Paul Mescal lookalike contest that happened in Dublin.
Murpuri said: “I thought London is missing out.
“I’m a Londoner, we need to have a bit of fun.
“There’s been some depressing news in the last few weeks and it’s about coming together and gathering community and having fun.”
The winner of the contest was 22-year-old Oscar Journeaux who said that he wants to springboard off his victory by promoting his band Parlay.
Another entrant of the contest was YouTube catfish George Mason, who known on social media as ‘Suemonella’ tricked thousands of Harry Styles fans in 2022 into thinking he was the popstar.
Mason aimed to follow this by attempting to trick fans into thinking he was the real Harry Styles at the competition.
