Creating artwork inspired by her therapy work with children and her own experience with dyslexia and her son’s autism, London artist Magdalena Del Mar explores the relationship between art and mental health.
On display at the Bonnington Centre in Putney, her latest exhibition, The Blue Horizon, encourages viewers to engage with the senses in a way that brings them to a place of mindfulness and positivity.
Del Mar views the creative process as deeply therapeutic, and she works to inspire artistic expression during her community work with autistic children.
Del Mar means ‘sea’, and Magdalena Del Mar prefers to paint in shades of blue, leading to wave-like canvases rich with the texture of flowing water.
