Nestled on the outskirts of Lymington town, The Ferryman less than a two minute drive away from the ferry port to Yarmouth.
I visited on Mother’s Day in the afternoon when the sun was blazing down in a group of six. We were greeted by manager Katie Lockyer and sat outside enjoying the sunshine and exceptional cuisine.
A huge variety of drinks are available at The Ferryman including local ales, Razorback and FortyNiner from Ringwood Brewery, New Forest as well as Aspall cider and Guinness. For the local Londoners reading this, you’ll be pleased to know The Ferryman is one of the very few local pubs who serve Camden Hells and Camden Pale Ale.
The Ferryman only uses the freshest, locally sourced ingredients giving my roast beef an exceptional, velvet like taste.
It was heavenly and left me wanting more, leading me to order their cheeseboard. It was out of this world, any cheese fan would know the blue cheese served on my plate was a rare, strong yet delicate taste.
Overall, The Ferryman is a rare sort of establishment, it serves fine food and fine drinks but its finest attribute is the team running it. Katie and her team have created a pub that will leave you with a smile and the promise of a fantastic, relaxed and heavenly experience.
