After what feels like years, life is slowly getting back to normal, which means people will be heading out for a night on the town.
The good thing about living in the capital is that there’s always something fun and unique to enjoy or plenty of places to experience fine food and drinks.
But you don’t have to worry about where to go – we’ve got five tips for the best night out in the city.
Take in the sights from the water
Or, in other words, try out a boat trip on the Thames.
If you’re after a proper tour of the Thames, with a guide and all, then this is something you’ll probably want to do during the day.
Head on over to the Embankment and join the tourists – even if you’re a local, you’ll still learn something new.
However, there are plenty of party or cruise trips you can enjoy down the river for a night to remember.
The party boats are great if you want to, well, party.
There is enough room on deck and below for you and your friends to mingle, listen to music and dance the night away. All while traversing the Thames.
But if you want to enjoy a better view, then the dinner cruises are the way to go.
These events are great for any occasion and will steer you well if you get them as a gift for a friend or significant other.
You’ll get a three-course meal, live music, and the opportunity to dance.
And you can view the landmarks as you go – they look amazing at night.
Enjoy a different type of theatre
There are plenty of shows you can see on the stage in London, but there are options if you don’t want to watch the same as everyone else.
Going up to London and watching an Andrew Lloyd Webber musical has been done by most people, but going up to see some alternative theatre will add an interesting twist to your night.
Take in something from the fringe theatres, maybe at the Soho Theatre or Southwark Playhouse – you’ll be able to see a very different type of show and have lots to talk about on the way home.
Try your luck at a casino
Is lady luck on your side? There is only one way to find out – to visit a famous London casino.
Head into the centre of town, and you’ll find some exquisite ones to enjoy, such as the Hippodrome.
Not only will you enjoy the atmosphere of the casino, but there are also lots of games to play.
Whichever venue you decide to go to, you can dress up, head to the bar, or even just go there to eat.
Some of them even host entertainment shows, too.
Before you visit, it’s wise to read up on how to play some of the games.
Knowing how to play blackjack, for example, will give you the confidence to sit down at the blackjack table.
Or if you fancy the chance to play some poker, then you really should learn the rules for Texas Hold’em first.
See the city from up high
Tourist attractions like the London Eye and The Shard are always fun to do.
In fact, it’s recommended you should at least try it once on a visit to London.
But we’re talking about nights out now.
That’s where places such as Sushi Samba come up trumps.
There’s a rooftop bar at the top of Heron Tower in Bishopsgate, with music, food and drink, and an epic view of London by night.
Or maybe you just want waffles?
So, try out Duck & Waffle and enjoy breakfast food – it’s open 24 hours a day, so you can feast your eyes on the view of the city.
The Circle Line crawl
You know the Circle Line on the London Underground? The yellow, circular one.
People have often tried out the ‘Circle Line pub crawl’ – and you can guess what that is.
Get off each stop, visit a pub, then back onto the tube and carry on to the next stop.
But why limit this to students and pub-goers?
Maybe it could be the Circle Line Breakfast crawl or Circle Line Tea crawl – each stop, you get off and try out something different.
You can make up your own itinerary, get your Oyster card and off you go.
