A free vegan sausage roll vending machine will arrive on Southbank tomorrow to celebrate National Sausage Roll Day.
The pea-protein sausage rolls are made by Meatless Farm and will be available to the public at Observation Point, 56 Upper Ground, London SE1 9PP from 11:30am to 7pm tomorrow.
According to Meatless Farm, the vending machine has its own internal microwave to make sure every sausage roll is served piping hot.
Morten Toft Bech, founder of Meatless Farm said: “Our new vending machines will give sausage roll fans the opportunity to indulge and get their well-deserved fix, whilst doing their bit for the planet.
“Let the good times sausage roll!”
Rosemary Hogg, chairperson of The British Sausage Roll Association said: “Sausage rolls have been passed through the generations and now everyone can take a bite out of Meatless Farm’s meat-free masterpiece.”
A 2019 report from Mintel showed that eating meat-free foods makes people feel good and that two-thirds of adults now eat meat-free foods, which is up from 50% in 2017.
Moreover, this year’s Veganuary was the most popular ever in the UK.
Meatless Farm has stationed multiple free vegan sausage roll vending machines around the UK since April and last year in August the company set up a M*** F*** drive thru in Hackney.
The Meatless Farm Instagram page contains more details regarding future vending machines, which will be popping up all around the UK.
