The multi-billion pound industry seemed untouchable until recent years.
Over time, online shops such as Etsy and Depop have appeared and garnered a cult following, with more and more people rejecting mainstream clothing vendors in favour of independent, local and sustainable manufacturers.
This has only been exacerbated by the pandemic, which caused widespread closure of brick-and-mortar shops and caused us to turn to the internet, especially social media, to get our fashion fix.
