An online book of condolence has been set up on the Royal website for the public to pay tribute to Prince Philip.
Those who wish to send their condolences to the Royal Family can do so on the Royal website.
However, due to the current lockdown rules the public will not be able to sign the physical book of condolence.
The public are advised to donate to charity rather than leave flowers.
The Royal website states: “The Royal Family have the safety and wellbeing of the public in mind during these challenging times. The family therefore ask that anyone wishing to express their condolences does so in the safest way possible, and that the public not gather at Royal residences.”
A selection of messages from the books of condolence will be passed onto members of the Royal Family, and may be held in the Royal Archives for posterity.
