Epsom and St Helier Hospitals Charity is seeking keen adventurers to take on the NHS London to Paris cycle ride in September to funds to support the Trust.
The four-day, 300-mile challenge will begin on September 25 in Crystal Palace, going south towards the coast, before finishing underneath the iconic Eiffel Tower in Paris where there will also be the opportunity to explore the capital after the ride is completed.
This will be the first event of its kind for the new charity, which is offering a £25 registration fee until June 14 with a minimum sponsorship of £1,300 (with the option to self-fund tour costs). Every penny raised and pedal pushed will be in aid of new hospital equipment from extra ECG machines for A&E to puzzles and games for patients.
Director of communications and patient experience Lisa Thomson said: “Whether you’re an experienced rider looking to put in some mileage, or a complete beginner looking for your first ever multi-day ride, you will find other cyclists at your level, have the opportunity to make new friends and go on an incredible adventure that will stay with you forever.”
As part of the team, participants will be the first to wear an Epsom and St Helier Hospitals Charity cycling jersey and will receive an exclusive training day with a professional cycling coach prior to the event.
