Amateur filmmakers across south London were awarded cash prizes on last month after competing in a 48 hour film challenge.
Herne Hill Free Film Festival has run the challenge since 2012, just two years after the event was established in 2010.
Artists Peter Duggan and Sorcha Edward (pictured above), known collectively as Dugged, won in both the over 16s and Grand Prize categories for their three minute film, Grotto.
Mr Duggan said: “We’ve entered three years running and came second last year. We seem to be getting more polished!”
Ms Edward added: “We made a film with the kids and they loved having a product at the end of it. We were thinking it could be a business venture.”
Filmmakers were given a line, prop and location, with a time limit of two days, to complete their film, and the opportunistic pair were able to use the scrap around Norwood Lodge in Brockwell Park for an absurdist class comedy.
Sunday’s awards also celebrated filmmakers under 16, as well as families who wrote and shot their films together.
Friends Rufus, Oscar and Mia, known as The Wild Ones, won in the Under 16s category for their short musical film, Money the Musical.
Rufus and Oscar said: “We all play instruments and like singing so it was combining our interests of making films and making music.”
The team are making a habit of winning, after taking home the same award last year, and said they would be entering again in 2020 without a shadow of a doubt.
The Toastmakers team are also on a streak, claiming the prize in the Families category for another of what organiser Tom Worth describes as special effects gems.
Brothers Louis, 11, and Tommy, 9 teamed up with their parents Victoria and Peter Eldridge, taking inspiration from science fiction and superhero films to film a future cult classic in Crystal Palace Park.
Herne Hill Free Film Fest will be challenging more budding directors to complete a film in under 48 hours next year.
