Police arrested a man in Estonia yesterday on suspicion of the murder of Laureline Garcia-Bertaux whose body was discovered in Kew last week.
A 32-year-old man was arrested at 12.25 on Wednesday after the Metropolitan Police Service Homicide and Major Crime Command, in conjunction with the Crown Prosecution Service, issued a European Arrest Warrant (EAW).
The man was detained at an address in Tallinn, Estonia and is being held in an Estonian Police Station before extradition proceedings start.
Ms Garcia-Bertaux, 34, a French national, had lived in Darell Road, Kew since April last year and was reported missing after she did not arrive for work at PR company Golin on Tuesday 5 March.
During the late evening of Wednesday 6 March, officers located a body in a shallow grave in the garden at the victim’s home address in Darell Road.
A post-mortem examination was held at Uxbridge Mortuary on Saturday 9 March and the cause of death was as consistent with compression of the neck pending toxicology.
A murder investigation led by Detectives from the Met’s Homicide and Major Crime Command continues.
