Venus the greyhound from Battersea Dogs and Cats Home in south London is feeling a little ruff lately.
All she wants is someone to love, but to her that’s seeming a little farfetched.
Venus is Battersea’s loneliest dog who, despite her name, has been rather unsuccessful finding her perfect pair – but we think she’s pretty pawsome!
The beautiful black greyhound is dreaming of the ideal home with a secure garden to spend her summer evenings relaxing in.
The ex-racer is also a lover of tennis and will make a faultless fit for any Wimbledon fan.
To help Venus on her quest for love, the charity – where she has been for more than 150 days – decided to play cupid by sending the lonely pup on several romantic dates.
The four-year-old was treated to a delicious picnic where she enjoyed all her favourite treats and a delightful stroll in Battersea Park.
She loved listening to romantic love poems and enjoyed a cosy sofa viewing of Paul O’Grady: For the Love of Dogs.
Venus is a friendly, loving dog who would be the perfect pup for a new home.
Ali Taylor, Battersea’s head of canine behaviour, said: “Venus has shown herself to be a real couch potato and loves nothing more than snuggling up on the sofa.
“Poor Venus has been unlucky in love for more than 150 days here at Battersea.
“People tend to think greyhounds need more exercise than the average dog, however this is not the case.”
