Detectives have recovered the ashes of two children that were taken during a burglary and returned them to the victim.
Officers had previously appealed for information to locate the ashes that were believed to have been stolen in a burglary at Castlegate in Richmond on Monday, 11 December.
The property was recovered during the course of ongoing police enquiries into a burglary at Buxton Road, SW14 on Wednesday, 13 December.
Arrangements have been made to return the ashes to the parents on Friday, 15 December.
Three men, aged 37, 26 and 31 were arrested at an address at Wills Crescent in Whitton on Wednesday, 13 December on suspicion of handling stolen goods in relation to the Castlegate burglary and have been bailed in relation to this matter.
