Police appeal for witnesses after Thornton Heath stabbing

A man has been left fighting for his life after being stabbed multiple times in Thornton Heath on Wednesday.

The victim, 23, was found bleeding heavily at 8.30pm in Bensham Lane and is currently in critical condition at a south London hospital.

Police are appealing for information on two suspects who fled the scene in the direction of Cameron Road, near Croydon University Hospital.

The attack is being treated as attempted murder.

The first suspect is described as a black man, with a heavy build with a height around 5ft 6ins, wearing a dark puffer jacket and dark trousers.

The second suspect is also described as a black man, with a slim/average build with a height around 5ft 5ins, wearing a dark puffer jacket and dark trousers.

The attack is believed to have occurred in Kelling Gardens at the junction with Bensham Lane.

A Met Police spokesperson said: “Officers would like to speak to anyone who has relevant information that may assist the investigation or witnessed anything suspicious.

“There have been no arrests and enquiries into the circumstances of the incident continue.”
